1. Information We Collect

We collect information you provide (e.g. name, email, country) when you purchase a certificate or contact us. We also collect technical data such as IP address and browser type for security and service delivery.

Quiz Data & Source Tracking

When you take the Abatify Climate Quiz, we collect your quiz responses and use them to generate your personalised climate profile. Your answers are stored to allow you to revisit your results via a unique shareable link.

If you provide your email address, it is used solely to send you a copy of your results and to allow you to access them in future. We do not use your email for unsolicited marketing without your separate consent.

If you have accepted cookies on our website, we may also record how you arrived at the quiz (for example, via a social media advertisement or a link from our homepage). This is recorded as technical parameters in the URL (UTM parameters) and is used only to help us understand which of our communications are most useful. This data is associated with your quiz session and is not shared with third parties.

Your quiz results are accessible via a unique URL. This URL does not contain your name or email address. If you share this URL, anyone with the link can view the climate profile associated with that quiz session.

2. How We Use Cookies and Tracking Technologies

We use cookies and similar technologies to improve your experience on our site and to measure the effectiveness of our advertising. Specifically:

Meta Pixel and Conversions API

We use Meta's Pixel and Conversions API to measure how our ads perform. When you visit our site or make a purchase, we may send anonymised data — including a hashed version of your email address, your IP address, and browser information — to Meta Platforms Inc. This helps us understand which ads led to purchases and reach people with similar interests. This data is processed under Meta's Data Policy. We never share your raw personal data with Meta — email addresses are one-way encrypted (hashed) before transmission.

We only send this data if you have accepted cookies. You can withdraw your consent at any time by clicking “No thanks” on the cookie banner or clearing your browser cookies.

Stripe

Payments are processed by Stripe Inc., a PCI-DSS certified payment processor. When you make a purchase, Stripe collects your payment card details, billing address, and email address directly. We do not store your card details. Stripe's privacy policy is available at stripe.com/privacy.

Cookie Consent

We store your cookie preference (accepted or declined) in your browser's local storage and as a cookie named abatify_ad_consent. This preference is remembered for 365 days. You can change it at any time by clearing your browser cookies.

3. Registry Disclosure

When you purchase an Abatify certificate, we retire carbon credits on your behalf in the name of Abatify or West England Company Pte Ltd through verified public registries such as Verra or Gold Standard. Your personal details are not submitted to or published on these registries. Your certificate references the relevant project ID and retirement details for transparency.

4. Data Transfers Outside the UK and EU

Meta Platforms Inc. and Stripe Inc. are based in the United States. By using our site, your data may be transferred to and processed in the US. Both companies participate in recognised data transfer frameworks and maintain appropriate safeguards under GDPR Article 46.

5. Your Rights Under GDPR

If you are based in the EU or UK, you have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you
• Request correction or deletion of your data
• Withdraw consent for data processing at any time
• Lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority

6. Data Retention

We retain your purchase records (name, email, certificate details) for 7 years for accounting and legal compliance purposes. Cookie consent preferences are stored for 365 days.
